Recycle Computers, Electronics, Metals, Printers, Monitors, Wire in Utah

How can Stone Castle Recycling improve it's efforts to assist you in recycling? As you may know computer and electronic recycling is still in it's "infancy" in Utah. (With this said, we do have 9 years experience recycling computers and electronics and over 18 years experience recycling metals.) Thank you.

We found Stone Castle by calling the Layton Burn Facility. Our business required an EPA licensed facility - with an excellent EPA reference we selected Stone Castle and found their service to be professional, accommodating and affordable.

Thanks,

I am so happy to see that their is a eWaste recycle facity in Utah!!! but it wasn't easy to find, I was about to give up when I finally clicked on just the right link to get me here. Don't ask me how I didn't it, cause I can not recall.
I really didn't want to send my eWaste to the dump.

I appreciate knowing where to get rid of my old computers and monitors. My concern is that there is data on the old hard drives. Do you clean them or destroy them? What is my responsibility? Why isn't this discussed on your site?

YOUR IMPORTANT DATA SECURITY

All hard drives that are required to be destroyed are, without any reservations. Any that can be salvaged for reuse are prepared by following the federal (DOD) low leveling standards which includes but is not limited to a triple pass
low level configuration. If you require a higher standard than
3 passes, you may want to request a certificate of destruction and have your hard drive(s) destroyed.

Per customer request, all other sensitive media are treated with the highest amount of care and security to insure the confidentiality of all entities
in question. Other sensitive media would be CD's, tapes, etc.

It is the customers responsibility to low level/destroy their sensitive media like hard drives, tapes, etc. if they don't request Stone Castle Recycling to do this service and obtain a certificate of destruction.

Remember, if in doubt, the customer can request a certificate of destruction, and Stone Castle Recycling will destroy your hard drive(s) and other sensitive media. Here is a basic example of the destruction process for a hard drive. The hard drive is removed from the computer. The circuit board is removed. The rest of the hard drive is shredded/ground including the platters where your data is stored. The scrap is then recycled. It's much more involved than that, but hopefully you get the idea.

Your data security is very important to you and us, therefore please ask us about these much needed services that we provide and have been providing for several years.

Thank you for your VERY important question on data security...We hope this answers your question adequately...please contact us if you need more information.
